Los Rocosos Vineyards Brings Home the Gold!
Milton-Freewater, Oregon, September 4: Los Rocosos Vineyards, located in the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater which is the only Federally-recognized American Viticultural Area in the United States that is based on soil type, was recently honored by the annual Oregon Wine Experience event held in Jacksonville, Oregon on August 20, 2023.
Two of the estate wines that received Gold medals were made from grapes grown in the Rocks District. The first was a 2020 Grenache and the second was a 2020 Grenache/Sangiovese Blend. The Grenache/Sangiovese Blend was also identified as a “Hidden Gem” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Los Rocosos' 2017 Merlot received a Double Gold by the reviewers.
There are over a thousand wineries in Oregon and the majority of them are located in the Willamette Valley. However, the Rocks District consistently produces not only world-class wines, but also world-class grapes that are purchased by wineries in both Oregon and Washington.
Los Rocosos Vineyards was proud to represent The Rocks District of Milton Freewater in a field of over 350 competitors, and especially delighted to be recognized for its wines with gold medals this year.
Los Rocosos Vineyards is located at 84031 Eastside Road in Milton Freewater and generally open at the vineyard for tastings between noon and 5, daily. Drop-ins are always welcome but reservations are recommended.
