September 2022 Palate Passion: Taqueria El Piolin
There are those wonderous times when being employed as an educator in the Milton-Freewater School District has perks that present themselves as appetizing.
One such occurrence came on the Friday prior to commencement of the 2022-23 school year at McLoughlin High School.
The certified and classified staff were treated - compliments of our superiors - to the tastiness and hearty offerings prepared by Taqueria El Piolin during the lunch hour of 26 August.
And what a lunch hour it was!
Every staff member walked out of the school cafeteria afterward with great satisfaction and the energy to push through an afternoon's work after fabulously-filling meals. I chose to feast on a vegetable burrito, a work of art containing rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, sliced tomatoes and onions, and cilantro. Every bite brought joy to my heart and a smile to my face.
Taqueria El Piolin features an impressive list of mouth-watering possibilities that go beyond bean, beef, and veggie burritos - tacos, tortas, camarones, quesadillas, tostados, sopes, and hamburguesas. None of these will disappoint any customer.
The pride and love of the workers at Taqueria El Piolin was on full display during a recent visit. They have much to be proud of.
If you are a connoisseur of food-truck-type delicacies, this Hispanic-rich establishment on East Broadway Avenue is a crowd pleaser and a credit to the Milton-Freewater community.
