Business Spotlight: Clickit RV Milton-Freewater
Quotes and Photos Courtesy of Kevin Smith What was once a small, family-owned business for over 40 years, Smiley RV has been sold, rebranded and expanded into a now two-lot, all-you-could-ever-need recreational vehicle depot over on Highway 11! Starting out with a pair of brothers and a manager over in Spokane, Clickit RV was founded on the idea that freedom and adventure should also be accessible and comfortable! At a small piece of property on the North side of town, the first Clickit RV was launched during the dawn of the internet age with the motto, “Build it, Price it, Clickit” to purchase. At that time, building custom RVs online using a website was a brand new business model, and turned out to be an incredible platform for their business. Just last year, when Tim Werhan of Smiley RV was ready to retire, Clickit was looking to expand to a 4th location; they purchased the lot on September 21, 2021, and began the transformation. On November 1, 2021, two employees started their first day at Clickit RV Milton-Freewater: Keith Jenkins and Ivan Reece. Lead Master Technician, Keith Jenkins, has worked in the RV lot for more than 37 years now, earning the informal title, “The Legend”, and rumored to be able to service any RV with any problem. In lieu of the current nation-wide housing shortage, Clickit offers long-term residential solutions at apartment prices. People have come from all over the United States to purchase RVs right here in Milton-Freewater! Year-to-date, Clickit has sold RVs to people from Washington, Montana, Idaho, California, Tennessee, Florida, and New York City. Buyers have a wide variety of lifestyles and interests such as hunting, weekend vacations, retirement, young traveling families, and even supplementing the current trend of urban road-tripping hipsters and influencers that sprung out of COVID. In addition to the benefit of no sales tax on Parts & Service, Clickit believes that the keys to their success are great customer service, an experienced sales facility, being relationship-oriented, their convenient location, and, of course, The Legend Keith Jenkins! True to their roots, General Manager Kevin Smith says that being altruistic is a big part of their leadership core values, knowing how important it is give back to the community that has brought them such great success. “We know we are nothing without our community and it’s important for us to support the groups and organizations that exist within this Valley.” From experience, the people who work at Clickit are truly the type of people that you can genuinely enjoy spending time with and laugh until your tummy hurts. Today, Clickit RV employs over 20 people living in the Valley and is a one-stop care center that features about 100 new and used RVs. They offer floor plans to include bunk houses, rear-living, front-living, rear-kitchen, 2-bedroom, lofts, and everything in between. They have 5th wheels, travel trailers, pop-ups, hybrids, motorhomes, Classes A-B-C, destination trailers, toy haulers, tear-drops, and even horse trailers! Having experienced great success in Milton-Freewater, Clickit is now expanding into their second lot across the highway from Sinclair as a dedicated Sales facility, and utilizing their original space for Parts & Service. To celebrate the Grand Opening of their new lot, in partnership with the Chamber Ambassadors, Clickit will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting on October 13th from 5:30-6:30 PM at 84904 Highway 11, 97862. They will be serving beer, soda, water, and charcuterie along with raffling off two Milton-Freewater-themed baskets which features local wines, cheeses, and other treats.
