Solarize Walla Walla Runs Through July 4, 2024!

The Sustainable Living Center (SLC) is working in partnership with Olympia Community Solar, on a solarize campaign for the Walla Walla Valley. Olympia Community Solar is a nonprofit partner based in Olympia working with communities across the state to make solar energy more accessible and affordable. The campaign kicked off in March and runs through July 4, 2024.

The campaign, called Solarize Walla Walla, is a limited-time residential solar group purchasing program that offers homeowners discounted prices, vetted installers, education, and financing options. Interest in solar installations is currently at an all time high and still growing. SLC’s collaboration with Olympia Community Solar aims to provide the Walla Walla Valley with education and resources so residents can explore their solar options with trusted partners. The campaign's contractors, A&R Solar and Blossom Solar, were selected using a competitive procurement process.

Olympia Community Solar’s solarize program is now in its fourth consecutive year and has been a resounding success. Solarize partnerships in participating communities have resulted in over 250 solar installations. Over half a dozen cities across Thurston, Mason, Pierce, Lewis, and Skagit Counties have partnered with the program and the SLC is looking forward to similar success in Walla Walla and surrounding communities! Exclusive to Walla Walla, there are a limited number of $900 rebates available to those who opt-in to a low-cost home energy audit through the SLC. Washington homes receiving the audit may also qualify for energy efficiency program funding for recommended upgrades!

The Sustainable Living Center and Olympia Community Solar will be hosting a free informational workshop on April 25th, 2024, at the WWCC Water & Environmental Center from 6:30 to 8P. Information and resources about the program will be available, and installers will be on-hand to help field questions.  Light refreshments will be served.
