Are you passionate about making an impact in your community and region? Do you have experience with, or an interest in, rural community advocacy? Community Council, a regional nonprofit based in Walla Walla, Washington, has an opening for an Advocacy Coordinator effective August 12, 2022. The Advocacy Coordinator will coordinate and facilitate advocacy efforts to implement recommendations generated through community studies. Work includes developing and implementing advocacy strategies, developing and supporting outreach, convening and facilitating meetings, writing and disseminating meeting agendas and summaries, drafting reports, and supporting volunteer activity. The position requires excellent facilitation skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and an ability to manage multiple priorities. Spanish language proficiency and cultural knowledge are preferred. Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently, juggle a wide variety of responsibilities, and work effectively within a small staff and dedicated volunteers. Ability to work flexible hours and travel throughout the local region is necessary. Relevant and recent experience using websites and social media accounts is preferred. Office is located in Walla Walla, WA. Salary range for full-time is between $50,000 and $67,000 based on qualifications and experience, plus a medical benefit stipend and retirement plan matching contribution.
